ISLAMABAD - - Acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani resigned on Friday as President gave approval of his appointment as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court after retirement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. After Justice Tassaduq Jilani's resignation, senior judge of the SC Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk has been given the responsibilities of the acting CEC. The resignation has been sent to the SC registrar office. It should be mentioned that President Mamnoon Hussain, two days ago, approved the appointment of Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani as new CJP in place of CJ Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry who is going to retire on Dec 12, 2013.
