Maulana Zafar Ali Khan commemorated

The 59th death anniversary of a great journalist, and leader of Pakistan Movement Maulana Zafar Ali Khan was observed here the other day.
In this connection, a seminar was held at Government SK Girls High School to pay rich tribute to Maulana Zafar over his meritorious services towards Urdu language, poetry, journalism, Pakistan Movement and Islam.
Addressing the seminar, school headmistress Mrs Saadat Parveen said that Maulana Zafar Ali Khan was a multi-dimensional personality who never compromised on chasing his prefixed targets.
She said that Maulana Zafar Ali Khan was born in 1873 at Kot Marath‚ near Wazirabad. He received his early education in Mission High School Wazirabad and then went to Aligarh Muslim University, and graduated from there.
She said that most of Maulana’s life spent in politics. He played a role in the freedom movement against the British in India.
She said that Maulana Zafar Ali Khan never compromised on upholding the principles of truth and freedom of expression, even at the cost of closure of daily Zamindar, and forfeiture of guarantee regarding his newspaper.


No one made such supreme sacrifices for journalism as Maulana Zafar Ali Khan rendered, she added.
“If the students study life patron of Maulana then they will get sufficient for their future time”, she said.
Miss Yasmeen Malik, Miss Bismillah, Miss Sobia Hafif and a number of students expressed their views and discussed the thoughts of Maulana on the occasion.
Meanwhile, former Punjab chief secretary Naveed Akram Cheema, Commissioner Khawaja Shumail, AC Anwar Baryar, Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust Secretary Raja Asad Ali Khan and local Press Club members laid floral wreath and offered Fateha on the grave of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan in Karamabad.
