Rawalpindi-A team of district health department and police arrested four people during a raid at a fake drug manufacturing factory in Jabbar Village, sources informed yesterday.

According to sources, a team of district health department and police supervised by AC Saddar carried out a raid at the Prince Pharma within the limits of Police Station Rawat. During the raid, police arrested four persons and seized a huge quantity of fake medicines. All the detainees have been shifted to police station where a case was registered against them.

Talking to The Nation, AC Saddar Tasneem Ali Khan said the team on a tip off raided a house owned by Qazi Asad in Jabbar village. He said in the house a person Kamran Khalid was running a factory “Prince Pharma” where counterfeit medicines were being prepared. He said Abdul Jabbar along with three other employees have been arrested while a huge quantity of spurious drugs has also been seized.

On the other hand, Punjab Food Department raided godowns at the Hamilton Road in Raja Bazaar where sale of unhygienic cooking oil was continued. The raiding team seized 3,150 rotten cooking oil and 20kg expired food colours.
