SIALKOT-The Wildlife Department released the Indian deer to the jungle as it got much terrified in police detention and its condition became deteriorated. It had earlier decided to send it to Lahore Zoo.
They left the deer at the areas from where it had crossed into the Sialkot border villages. The officials added that the deer could not be shifted to the Lahore Zoo because of its bad condition. It was much terrified after being detained at the lockup of the Badiana police station.
The wildlife officials released the Indian deer in the jungle along the Sialkot Working Boundary in the presence of local police officials and people. On Monday, the local villagers had caught it after it crossed the Working Boundary here near Pasrur.
GRANT RELEASED: The government has released the special grant of Rs1.18 billion to acquire as many as 5090 kanals of land in Daska tehsil’s 18 villages for the early construction of 19km portion of Sialkot-Lahore Motorway falling into the Daska tehsil.
According to the senior officials of the National Highway Authority (NHA), both the NHA and district administration of Sialkot have jointly completed the basic survey for the purpose in Daska tehsil. The NHA has already informed the local villagers and owners of the lands in Daska tehsil’s 18 villages including Jaamkey Cheema, Raajokey, Chak Gillaan, Kaanwaan Lit, Kotli Chhamb Wali, Peejowali, Wataaliyaan, Saahkey, Lorhiki, Bhittey Wad, Salhokey, Ram Raaiyaan Khurd, Ram Raaiyaan Kalan, Akbar, Taaliwala, Kotli Khera and Wadala Sindhuaan that their lands were being acquired for the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway’s Daska portion.
The district administration has also asked the local farmers and growers not to cultivate the seasonal crops in the fields falling in the lands being acquired for the motorway project. The officials added that the process of land acquiring would be started there within the next couple of days.
