KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation 100-days cleanliness campaign will begin from today here.
The cleanliness drive will encompass all the areas falling under the jurisdiction of corporation.
KMC will provide full support and assistance to the DMCs and other relevant institutions during the 100-day drive despite shortage of funds, workforce and lack of constitutional authority.
The KMC are optimistic that the people from all walks of life will back and fully support their initiative to make the city clean and a better environment for them to live their life.
It is pertinent to mention here that Karachi Major Waseem Akhtar on Tuesday held a press conference, where he announced the launch of cleanliness campaign. The city mayor also mentioned that the roads would also be repaired and re-carpeted if deemed necessary.
He had also announced for the construction of new schools, parks, playgrounds and hospitals in 15 to 20 selected union councils of the Karachi East, Central and Korangi district.
