Islamabad-Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Islamabad police has arrested two members of a car-lifter gang and recovered stolen vehicle from their custody.

SP Investigation Islamabad constituted a team under the supervision of In-charge ACLC/SIU Unit Sub-Inspector Liaqat Ali and comprising Waheed Ahmed ASI and Manzoor Ilahi ASI. The team worked hard and arrested two accused Asif Ali known as Boni and Wahid Gul. Asif Ali was part of a three-member gang in which his job was to tamper the stolen vehicles provided by car-lifters Nasir Maseeh and Basharat Maseeh. The other gang members had already been challaned in the same offence. The team also recovered six stolen vehicles from the possession of car lifters. The gang sold tampered vehicles to numerous customers in full price showing the tampered vehicle, as genuine one.

Accused Asif Ali known as Boni had already been nominated in cases i.e. 275/16, 290/16, 293/16, 299/16 US 471/201, 420/468 of PPC at police station Sabzi Mandi. Further interrogation is underway.

Meanwhile, Ramana police arrested a three-member gang allegedly involved in kidnapping of a 17-year-old boy and recovered the abductee. According to the police, Sheikh Ahmed Faraz, a resident of Itetfaq Town Sector G-12 had lodged a complaint with Ramana police on November 28 that his younger son Osama, 17-year-old, had been kidnapped by unknown persons. SP (Saddar) Captain (Retd) Zeshan Haider constituted a team which managed to arrest the three accused, including Mazhar Hayat, resident of Chakwal, Sandal Ejaz and Zohaib Khan, resident of Sector I-10/4 and recovered the abductee, Osama from their custody. Further investigation of the case is underway.
