Multan- The Young Doctors Association observed strike and a staged protest here against the central induction policy framed by the Punjab government on Tuesday.

Carrying placards, a large number of doctors participated in the protest, chanting anti-government slogans. The protesting doctors alleged that the provincial government planning removal of doctors from their jobs by introducing the central induction policy.

They said that the policy is preventing doctors from gaining higher education. The doctors revealed that at least 250 graduates receive degree from Nishtar College every year, however; only nine seats have been reserved for Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS).

They warned that if the policy is not changed, the doctors would be forced to prolong their protest.
