Islamabad - Making the experience of art and music accessible to all is more important than ever. Whether it’s learning to play an instrument, going to a museum, or painting, exposure to art is beneficial in so many ways.

Unfortunately, many of us, despite having the resources, fail to acknowledge the importance of participating in artistic and cultural activities. That is exactly what Art Langar Festival aims to do.Incorporating charity into arts and music, this festival aims to promote the twoamong residents of the capital, and allow those with limited opportunities to also engage inartistic and musical sessions on one platform.

Based on the concept of ‘give so that all may receive’, this two-day festival will feature musical performances by known artists, art installations and manifestations and most importantly a langar to be distributed as Sunday lunch among street children and orphans.

Being held at The Rock Musicarium on 2nd and 3rd December, the Art Langar festival endeavors to create a vibrant community around the principles of creativity, self-expression, innovation, inclusion, civic responsibility, and service-to-humanity.

At the event, there will be professional artists creating innovative and interactive works of art, student societiesgiving theatrical performances, a jamming pavilion for those who are musically inclined, a farmer’s market and refreshment stalls. AriebAzhar, QuratulainBaloch, MekaalHasan band and Khumariyaan will be some of names performing at the festival.

Orphans of Mashal Model School and Pakistan sweet homes will be brought to the event on the second day to interact with art works and music sessions and provided meals.

Any individual who purchases the ticket will be encouraged to contribute to the festival in one way or another; whether it is through volunteering or actively engaging in discussions or simply sharing their meal with the economically disadvantaged.

Tickets priced at RS1000 for adults and RS500 for students are being sold at various eateries in the city including Baramda F-11, Gloria Jeans F-11, Chikachino F-7, DocaMoca G-8 Markaz, KhokaKhola, Beverly Center, Coffee Planet I-8, The Cheese Factor F-11, 10 Eleven Lounge, Madina Market, F-8, and Burn Out F-7, Islamabad.  As the prolonged sit-in comes to an end and life in capital resumes to normal, attending this ‘music mela with a cause’ is the perfect catharsis for the urban dwellers.
