ISLAMABAD - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) during its drive against non-conforming use of residential units has sealed 12 houses in different sectors of Islamabad which were being used illegally for commercial purposes. The Building Control Section (BCS) of CDA has conducted operation against nonconforming use of residential units in capital city. Director BCS said that commercial activities in the residential units are a violation of CDA Building Bylaws, therefore, CDA carrying out operation against nonconforming units.
During the operation various illegal under-construction buildings were demolished which didn’t possess NoC from CDA. Meanwhile, on a complaint received on PM’s citizen complaint portal, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Shalimar Bushra Rao visited Naan centre inside PHA G-11/4. AC checked the weight of naan and roti and observed that weight was lower than standard of government’s notified weight. It was also observed that the rate was also not in compliance with notified rates and the naan centre was also found to be dirty and the bakers of roti and naan had poor personal hygiene.
AC has given strict warning and imposed a fine in this regard and said that she will recheck the naan center.
