HAFIZABAD/PAKPATTAN/SHEIKHUPURA - Eleven people were killed while 83 others sustained multiple injuries in different incidents and road mishaps in different parts of Hafizabad, Pakpattan and Sheikhupura during Eid days.

According to rescue source, Rasheed, a resident of Mohalla Hussainpura along with his two nephews - 5-year-old Umar and eight-year-old Bilal was on the way to his house on a bike when suddenly a speeding car and rickshaw dashed against the bike. Resultantly Rashed and one of his nephew Bilal died on the spot while Umar sustained serious injuries. He was taken to hospital from where he was referred to Lahore where he also succumbed to his injuries. The city police registered a case against the car driver who managed to escape after the mishap.

Those injured in various road mishaps included - Noor Bakht, Zeeshan, Shaheryar, Muslim Ali, Usman Saddique, Babar Hussain, Muhammad Nawaz, Nadeem Ahmad, Hafeez Ahmad, Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Azam, Rashid Ali, Muhammad Arshad and Intazar Hussain were admitted in the DHQ Hospital Hafizabad.

In PAKPATTAN, four people were killed and twenty injured in various road accidents.

As per details, two motorcyclists died and two injured on Hota Road while doing wheelies. In the second incident, two passengers died when a speeding bus overturned. Eight passengers also injured in the accident. It is to be noted that although the district administration imposed section 144 and banned the wheelies the youngsters enjoyed Eid with the deadly with apparent immunity.

In SHEIKHUPURA, four people were killed while three other received injuries in different incident in the district during Eid holidays. According to reports, 17-year-old Zahid was trampled to death by a sacrificial cow when the butcher tried to slaughter the sacrificial cow near Ayesha Park in the B Division Police precincts.

In another incident which occurred on Jandiala Road when Akhter and his henchmen killed a mobile phone shop owner Anjum and injured his father Bashir over a petty dispute. Meanwhile, in the Manawala Police precinct, Muhammad Bashir, a resident of Village Qila War Singh was shot dead by his rivals over old enmity while two passers-by received bullet injuries. The injured were removed to nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, an unknown cycle riders received severe injuries when a speeding motorcyclist hit him at Joianwala More some 7 km away from here. Later the injured breathed his last while was being on the way to hospital. The Housing Colony Police registered a case against unknown motorcyclist.
