LAKKI MARWAT – The ANP-led government took practical steps to remove backwardness of Lakki Marwat and launched several small and mega uplift schemes during the last four-and-a-half years to bring it at par with the other developed areas.This was stated by ANP District President Advocate Sadruddin Khan while speaking at a public meeting in a remote Bargai village. Other ANP leaders including Malik Ali Server Khan, Daulat Khan Marwat and Liaqat Khan were also among the speakers. Elders of Bargai, Walai, Sagai, Khankhel and Sulemankhel joined Awami National Party on the occasion. They reposed their confidence in the leadership of Sadruddin and said that remote and backward areas like Bargain saw developmental projects for the first time in the history of district.Sadruddin said that election of wrong people to assemblies has plunged the area into backwardness and increased problems local people. “Despite stepping into 21st century the residents of this district lack clean drinking water and other basic facilities in health, education and other sectors”, he maintained. He claimed that the area Khans and so-called religious leaders were hostile to him as he has started educating people about the importance of their votes. He called upon the people to reject traditional politicians and those in the garb of religion and elect honest candidates in upcoming elections to transform the backwardness of the district into development and prosperity.
