QUETTA – Balochistan’s Minister for Local Government Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost passed away on Monday, media reports said.

Abdul Khaliq died after prolonged illness. He lost his legs in an accident four years ago. Provincial Chief Minister and Governor expressed deep grief over the Minister's death. Dost was elected in the 2008 elections on the PB-18 Zhob seat of the Balochistan Assembly on a Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Nazaryati's ticket. Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf have expressed deep grief and sorrow over his sad demise of Balochistan Minister for Local Government‚ Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost.

They prayed to Allah Almighty to shower His blessings on the departed soul and give courage to his family to bear the loss with fortitude. In his message‚ the Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the members of the bereaved family. The Prime Minister also lauded the invaluable contribution of late Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost for the strengthening of democracy in the country and well being of the people of Balochistan province.
