KARACHI – Like other parts of the country Eidul Azha was celebrated with great zeal and fervor in the metropolis in commemoration of the supreme sacrifice offered by Hazrat Ibrahim (RA) and his son Hazrat Ismail (RA) in the fulfillment of the divine order.Special prayers were offered for the prosperity of the country and unity among the Muslim Ummah. The faithful sacrificed animals in connection with the Sunnah Ibrahimi. The main Eid congregation in the City was held at the Polo Ground, Nishter Park, Aram Bagh Ground and and Nazimabad No-3 Eid Gah, where Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, Federal and Provincial Members of Assembly, political leaders, other high-ups of Sindh government and thousands of people offered Eid prayer.  Scholars from different schools of thought delivered special sermons to highlight the significance of the day and the purpose of the sacrifice rendered by Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (RA) centuries ago.After Eid prayers, camels, cows, goats, rams and sheep were being sacrificed to revive the Sunnah of the Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (RA). This process will continue all the three days of Eidul Azha.A large number of people migrated to their hometowns to mark the Eidul Azha. Scores of congregational prayers were held early in the morning followed by slaughter of sacrificial animals. Meanwhile, the sale of sacrificial animals could not pick momentum this year because of price hike as most people stayed away from buying animals. EID IN SINDH: The festival of Eidul Azha began with religious zeal and fervour on Saturday in the province with small and large congregations to offer eid prayers.The largest gatherings of the faithfuls were witnessed in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Tando Muhammad Khan, Ghotki and Thatta etc. On the occasion, the failthfuls sought blessings of Allah Almighty and also begged for His forgiveness of the sins committed by them.
