LAHORE – The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) and other power distribution companies ensured the uninterrupted electricity supply to the consumers on Eid holidays.
There was no gap between electricity supply and demand across the country on Saturday and Sunday; however, three to four hours loadshedding was conducted on Monday, said a Pepco official. Sources also confirmed the official report of no load shedding in urban and rural areas. The government had directed the Discos and gas distribution companies to ensure non-stop electricity and gas supply to the domestic sector.
The CNG stations also remained open on Eid days but the majority of them, violating the Supreme Court order, sold gas at old prices. An official of the power sector said that the countrywide demand was recorded around 13,000MW on Eid and the generation was almost the same. The official added that four to five hours loadshedding would be conducted in the winter season.
