LAHORE - A newly-wed woman was found hanged under mysterious circumstances in the bedroom of her house located near Nakhuda Chowk in the Misri Shah area, police said on Tuesday.

The brother of the deceased told the police that 20-year-old Sanam Bibi was murdered by her in-laws since relations between the newly-wed couple were not cordial.

However her husband insisted that Sanam ended her life by hanging herself with the ceiling fan over domestic disputes. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating.

According to the in-laws of the deceased, the body of the woman who married just three months ago was hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope tied to her neck as they entered her bedroom on early Tuesday.

In another incident, a 17-year-old boy ended his life by swallowing poisonous pills in the Liaqatabad area on Tuesday. Police said that

The family told the police that Muhammad Zahid took poisonous pills after being admonished by his mother. The only brother of four was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced as brought dead. Police investigators said that father of the deceased, Wali Muhammad, had divorced his mother after contracting second marriage. The police have removed the body to the morgue and are investigating.
