RAWALPINDI  - A young girl attempted to commit suicide when a man refused to marry her after he allegedly raped her repeatedly. She was taken to the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) in critical condition, area police said on Tuesday.
Pirwadhai police has filed a case against the alleged rapist and started operation to arrest him. According to sources, Saima Bibi, a resident of Pirwadhai, was lured by a man namely Jamshed Ali of the same locality for a government job in Islamabad. However, the man taken the girl into a house in Islamabad where he served her a soft drink mixing sleeping pills in it and raped her. The accused also made a movie of the scene and later started blackmailing the girl, said the sources. They also said that the girl, who got pregnant, requested Jamshed to contract a marriage with her which he refused.
On this, the girl taken rat killing pills and was shifted to HFH. The doctors stated her condition to be critical.
SHO area police Raja Rasheed did not attend his cell phone when this scribe contacted to know his version. The parents of the girl complained about the apathy of police, which failed to arrest the accused.
