LAHORE: Amidst the escalating tension between Pakistan and India, Pakistan Rangers and the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) will not be exchanging sweets at the Attari-Wagah Border on Sunday on the occasion of Diwali.
This move is due to growing incidents of ceasefire violations by India across the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary.
On Friday, three people, including a child, were killed and six others were injured in heavy shelling by the BSF along the LOC in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the Sialkot Working Boundary.
Hindus in India, Pakistan and around the world are celebrating Diwali on Sunday. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has extended warm greetings to the Hindu community across Pakistan on this occasion.
