SIALKOT:- A special team of the Livestock Department, led by the Sialkot Assistant Commissioner Shahid Abbas, raided several meat shops across the city and recovered 12 mounds (480kg) dead meat, said to be of buffaloes, cows and donkeys. The veterinary doctors, on the spot examined the meat and declared it unhygienic. The vet doctors said that the recovered meat was of dead animals including donkeys.–Staff Reporter
The AC told the newsmen that butchers are selling unhygienic meat at their shops located in various parts of Sialkot city.
The teams also sealed as many as seven butchers’ shops while the police arrested butchers including Khalid, Nasir, Iqbal, Waseem, Muhammad Iqbal, Bashir and Ghulam Hussain. The police have registered separate cases against them.
