30 couples tie the knot at Daska mass-wedding

About 30 deserving couples yesterday tied their knots during a simple but impressive mass-wedding. The ceremony was held under the auspices of local NGO “Young Blood Foundation Daska” which was the 10th annual mass-wedding function organised by the NGO.
Daska-based “charity icon” Baba Jee Khalid Mehmood Makki Madani provided dowry including jewellery sets and household articles worth Rs150,000 to each bride.
More than 3,000 guests including local notables and family members of both the brides and grooms attended the mass-wedding.
The participants exhorted well-to-do people and philanthropists to follow the suit to mitigate the sufferings of the poor and helpless parents in this regard.
The guests including Baba Jee Khalid Mehmood Makki Madani, “Chacha Cricket” Sufi Abdul Jalil, MPAs - Shabeena Majeed Wyne and Rana Abdul Sattar, Bashir Ahmed Naz (Vice President of Asian Federation of Therapeutic Communities (AFTC) Asia, Tanveer Ahmed Mughal, President NGO Young Blood Foundation Daska, Haji Zahid Jehangir, general secretary and local traders, senior journalists, lawyers and philanthropists presented “salami” and special gifts to the newly-wed.
