The police has detained a man for sexually abusing and filming four schoolchildren, all under 10, in Hafizabad district of the Punjab province.

Investigators have seized a large collection of videos and photographs from the mobile phone and computer record of the accused during a successful raid at his shop, a police officer has confirmed to The Nation.

According to an official report received at the central police office and submitted by the district police officer Hafizabad, the accused identified as Shahid Imran alias Chairman has been arrested and is being interrogated in connection with the latest child sex abuse scandal.

“At least four separate cases have been filed on the complaint of parents of the victims while the police are also complainant in the fifth case lodged against Shahid,” a spokeswoman for the Punjab police said today. The accused has been brought to Lahore by police for DNA test.

His arrest and the discovery of his large collection of child rape videos emerged barely two months after more than 280 children were found to have been drugged, raped, and beaten by a child porn gang in Kasur, 60 kilometres from Lahore in north Punjab.
