Moot on nuclear medicine

LAHORE - Pakistan Society of Nuclear Medicine (PSNM), organised a conference titled: 'Integrating Nuclear Medicine into Clinical Practice' at CENAR cancer hospital, Quetta.
The event was chaired by Dr Fayyaz Ahmed, Director Medical Sciences Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. A large number of physicians and surgeons from various hospitals of Quetta attended the conference. President PSNM and head of Nuclear Medicine Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Dr. Humayun Bashir highlighted application of new Nuclear medicine modalities like SPECT-CT and PET-CT and talked about benefits and use of this new equipment in disease of Bone and Muscle and in Lymphoma respectively.–PR
Dr Hafiz Khush Naseeb, Director CENAR Cancer Hospital, Dr. Salman Habib, Dr Javed Iqbal from KIRAN Cancer Karachi, Dr. Munir from CENAR, Dr. Numair Younis from INMOL, Professor Jameel Ahmed, head of Surgery department Bolan Medical College also gave an over view of the several nuclear medicine tests available for various illnesses and body systems.
At the end Dr Fayyaz Ahmed concluded the session with vote of thanks to all the participants and informed that one billion rupees for up-gradation of CENAR Quetta has been approved by Government of Pakistan.
