Islamabad - A solo paintings exhibition by a new and emerging artist Maj Adnan, started here Tuesday at Jharoka Art Gallery (JAG).

The exhibition featured around 20 oil paintings by the artist, who is not new in this field and showing his talent to the art circle for the first time.

Commenting upon artist’s work, the gallery’s curator Nahida Raza said, “This gentleman came to me to show his artworks and I saw a very talented artist in him with a passion to paint. Painting without a passion and deep emotion is just a body without a soul. Maj Adnan has painted on paper and canvas both but I can see that he can handle both in a mature way”, she stated.

Talking to this agency, the artist said: “My name is Major Muhammad Adnan

Shahzad, I have an army background. I joined army in 2001 and did my bachelor’s in Computer Sciences from University of Peshawar. Later on I did my bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology.”

He said: “Painting is my passion more than a hobby. I believe that painting is the language of colors.I have another hobby as well and that is poetry and my fist book with the tile of “Kaha Nahin Tha” is about to be launched in mid October this year.”

The current exhibition will continue till October 7.
