ISLAMABAD - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) yesterday arrested alleged human smuggler involved in trafficking people to Libya on forged documents.

FIA arrested Adrish Malik with the support of a security agency that helped in locating the accused.

An FIA officer said that the accused allegedly in connivance with others accomplices and FIA officials had trafficked passengers in August on fake visas. FIA has already arrested its own officials in the case.

The officer said that it was being expected that the accused was the ring leader of a criminal racket and further investigations in the case would reveal more names of FIA officials who support such networks.

FIA on the directions of the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had launched countrywide campaign against human traffickers and agents.

During this campaign hundreds of agents have been arrested. Only this year, around 1350 agents as well as human traffickers have been arrested that included most wanted traffickers and court absconders also.
