LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said Saturday he would not rest content until oppression and injustice was eliminated from the society, and problems of the people would be resolved for he was elected by the people for this purpose. He ordered immediate arrest of DSP and other police officials guilty of dereliction of duty in the murder case of two real brothers in a nearby village of Pakpattan. He announced financial assistance of Rs 0.5 million for the family of a 10-year-old rape victim and announced that the government will bear educational expenditure of the unfortunate girl. He was talking to the affected families in Chak No 5 KB of district Pakpattan on Saturday. MNAs and MPAs and Provincial Police Officer were also present on the occasion. Talking to the mother and the family of the two real brothers who had been murdered, the Chief Minister said the killers had committed a heinous crime and they would not escape from punishment. He said demands of justice would be fulfilled. In response to the demand of the mother of the victims, the Chief Minister said the investigation of the case would not be transferred, but honest and dutiful officials of the local police will investigate and keep in view all aspects of the case. He said the case would be tried in special court. Expressing his sorrow over the incident, he directed immediate arrest of the brutal persons who had perpetrated this crime as well as the concerned DSP and police officials. He said that the dead persons could not be brought back, but the murderers would be awarded deterrent punishment. He lauded the performance of District Police Officer Pakpattan for taking action against the accused and investigation of the case on proper lines. He said that such honest and dedicated officers deserve all appreciation. It may be mentioned that two real brothers, Aamir Sher and Alam Sher were killed in Chak No.5KB of district Pakpattan recently and according to the mother and family of the victims, DSP and other police officials had accompanied the murderers. The Chief Minister directed IG Police to take immediate action against the officials for the arrest. Aamir Sher was the president of Peoples Students Federation, Pakpattan and he and his real brother Alam Sher and mother had come to Chak.5 KB from Pakpattan on the same day. Later, the Chief Minister went to the house of a 10-year-old female student, who was criminally assaulted. He said perpetrator of this heinous crime deserve no mercy and would be awarded exemplary punishment. He said the accused had been arrested and every effort would be made for ensuring maximum punishment to him under the law. He said that police officials patronising criminal elements will not be spared and maximum punishment will be awarded to them. He said that Punjab government would bear all expenditure on the education of the unfortunate girl. He also gave Rs 0.5 million as financial assistance to the affected family. The PPO informed that DSP who showed dereliction of duty regarding the case has been suspended while the concerned investigation officer has been arrested. Addressing the people on the occasion, the Chief Minister assured that Punjab government would make all efforts for solution of their problems. He said that elimination of injustice and excesses from the society is his mission and all possible measures will be taken for its fulfilment.
