KARACHI - Heavy downpour in City on Sunday claims four lives and most of the victims of the rain were electrocuted. According to reports, the rain shower began in the City in early morning, which was recorded 41mm and the areas where heavy rain was recorded include North Karachi, New Karachi, Surjani and Steel Town, Mari Poor and Gadap Town areas. The electrocution incidents were reported in different areas of the city and the first incident of electrocution was reported in Mehmoodabad area in which 27 years old Gulzar Ahmed caught the broken electric wires when he disembarked at a bus stop. In another incident, 19-years-old boy was electrocuted in Baldia, Sector 9-C and was rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced his death. A 28-years-old Nadeem died due to electrocution when he put his hand on an electric pole located near KDA Bus-Stop in Surjani. Similarly Jahanzeb, 20, was electrocuted at his residence, when was switching on an electric machine at home and died. Similarly numbers of people are reported to have been injured in the various parts of the city in wall collapse incidents. The Meteorological department on Sunday has forecast a cloudy weather with chances of thunderstorm for Monday (today). The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 30 to 32 degrees Celsius. However, the monsoon rainfall on Sunday changed the hot and humid weather into cool and pleasant conditions. However, people of Karachi also experienced prolonged power breakdown.
