RAWALPINDI - Managing Director of Sihala Slaughter House (SSH) Dr Shehbaz Anjum has said that following the directives of Chief Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif stalls of low price mutton and beef have been set up in all Ramazan Bazaars from where people could buy quality meat on affordable prices. According to him, low price mutton and beef stalls have been established in Ramazan Bazaars of Public Park, Sadiqabad, Haidri Chowk, Commercial Market, Committee Chowk, Chungi Number 22 and Chur Chowk. Dr Shehbaz said that the aim of establishment of such stalls was to supply quality meat and mutton to the citizens on affordable prices throughout the holy month of Ramazan. He said that the price of meat has been fixed Rs 150 per kg while price of mutton would be Rs 270 on these stalls. Strict action would be taken against the hoarders and profiteers, he warned. He said that on the directives of District Coordination Officer (DCO) Imdadullah Bosal complaint centres with phone numbers 0300-9567792-4491426 had also been established in the sasta bazaars to resolve the problems being faced by the customers. MNA inspects foodstuff in Chur Sasta Bazar The PML-N MNA, Malik Abrar Ahmed on Sunday paid a surprise visit to Ramazan Sasta Bazaar at Chur Chowk and inspected the stalls of different daily use items. Taking action on the complaints of consumers, the MNA handed over a poultry vendor to police for selling unhygienic and less weight chickens to the people. Malik Abrar Ahmed also criticised the officials of district government, Tehsildar Jahangir and Deputy District Officer (DDO-HRM) Nawaz for supplying low quality and unhygienic food items to Ramazan Sasta Bazaar and warned them to perform their duties with dedication and honesty otherwise strict action would be taken against them. He also instructed district government officials to also extend the flour distribution to towns and union councils so that masses could get atta on subsidised rates. While talking to media men, the PML-N MNA said that the Punjab government was trying its level best to provide basic need items to the poor people on affordable prices in the holy month of Ramazan. Chief Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif took good step by setting up Ramazan Sasta Bazaars across the province and common man was also getting benefit from these sasta bazaars.
