LAHORE Parliamentary Secretary of Health Punjab and Chairman Chief Ministers Taskforce on Spurious Drugs Dr Saeed Elahi has said that some elements taking undue benefit of the flood situation in the province were selling life saving drugs in the black market. He said that such elements would not be allowed to exploit the situation and strict action would be taken against them. Dr Saeed Elahi stated that necessary instructions had been passed to the drug inspectors to keep an eye on the market situation. He said that as the demand of medicines had increased due to the bulk consumption in the flood-hit areas, some elements involved in drug business had increased the prices of medicines specially used in gastroenteritis, skin and eye diseases. He warned those elements not to exploit the needs of the people otherwise strict action would be taken against those involved in profiteering.
