LAHORE A team of senior doctors of Jinnah Hospital Lahore comprising on gynecologists, medical officers and paramedical staff has left for Southern Punjab here on Monday to provide best treatment facilities to the marooned people in flood-hit districts. The medical team headed by Dr Muhammad Hassan Medical Superintendent Jinnah Hospital was also carrying medicines and surgical instruments along with ambulances for providing special medical cover to the pregnant women in those areas. According to the officials, the gynecologist team headed by Dr Ghazala Hassan handled no less than 500 cases of Gyne in the flood-ravaged districts of Jhang, Layyah, Kot Addu, Rajanpur and Muzaff-argarh. Assistant Professor Orthopedic Dr Tahsin Riaz has also joined the medical team to provide treatment to the flood victims at the medical camps, established in the above-mentioned districts. Officials further said that Dr Saeed Sobhan has assumed the charge of Medical Superintendent of Jinnah Hospital after Dr Hassan left for Southern Punjab to ensure medical treatment at the camps in the flood-hit areas. Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Dr Javed Akram has also constituted more medical teams, which would be sent according to the governments instructions to the flood affected areas.
