CHARLIZE Theron has entered talks to produce a film based on Marie Colvin’s life.
The actress may also star in the biopic, which centres around the late war journalist, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The American Sunday Times writer was killed last year at the age of 56 while covering the ongoing civil war in Syria. She had previously reported on conflicts in warzones including Kosovo, Chechnya, East Timor and Sri Lanka. In the latter country she was injured by a rocket-propelled grenade, losing her sight in one eye. Co-producer Basil Iwanyk and Thunder Road Pictures’s Peter Lawson have optioned Marie Brenner’s article ‘Marie Colvin’s Private War’, which was published in Vanity Fair. They are searching for a writer to adapt the piece. Theron is currently shooting Mad Max: Fury Road with Tom Hardy and Nicholas Hoult. –DS
