OKARA -Sahiwal Division Commissioner Qazi Muhammad Ishfaq visited Okara and reviewed anti-dengue measures in government offices as well as in other places in the City.

He visited tyres shops and possible breeding places of dengue. The Sahiwal Division commissioner appreciated efforts of Tehsil Administrator Zaheer Abbas Malik for eradication of dengue menace and described his anti-dengue measures as the best in the tehsil. He directed all departments concerned to intensify vector surveillance and larviciding and their strict monitoring. He said stagnant rainwater in various localities of the city was the major cause of breeding of the dengue mosquito.

Later, Sahiwal Division Commissioner visited District Accounts Office to review anti-dengue measures. District Accounts Officer Naveed Ahmed Qureshi, Tehsil Municipal Administrator Zaheer A Malik and EDO Health Dr Athar were also present on the occasion. The EDO health briefed the commissioner about the arrangements made to cope with menace of dengue and told him that no larva has been found at any place till yet.
