RAWALPINDI - Scores of female students of Government Pak Islamia Primary Girls School Thursday demonstrated at Ahata Fazal Elahi against the shifting of their school from Saddar to Ratta Amral by the Punjab government.
A female student was holding a placard saying “Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, please do not close our school as absence of education will promote terrorism and extremism” along with many other protestors carrying placards mentioning:
“We will not accept the wrong decision” and “We will not allow the government to shift school from Saddar to Ratta Amral”.
They also chanted slogans against the District Officer (DO) Education and Executive District Officer (EDO) Education and demanded of the CM to shelve the anti-poor and anti-education decision.
According to details, a large number of female students, from class 1 to 5th, gathered outside Government Pak Islamia Primary School at Ahata Fazal Elahi and staged a protest demo against the Punjab government for shifting their school from Saddar Cannt to Ratta Amral.
The students wanted the CM Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif to intervene so that the school could not be shifted. They claimed that due to shifting of the school they would have to travel around 5 kilometer from Saddar to Ratta Amral to impart education. It may be noted here that the school has more then 600 students.
Nosheen Anwar, a student of class 5th, said “I can not continue my education if my school is shifted. My father scares from sending me alone so far. I appeal CM Punjab to put back the decision”. Many other students also expressed their grave concerns over shifting their school and asked the government to take back its decision.
EDO Education Qazi Zahoor-ul-Haq , despite several phone calls made by this scribe, did not receive his cell phone to offer his comments on the issue that had sparked an unrest among the poor parents of the female students of Government Pak Islamia Primary Girls School.
