Increased exam fees protested

RAWALPINDI - The Students and parents have strongly refused increased examination fee for Matric and Intermediate registration fee processing and language fee. After the govt approval, Secondary Education boards in Punjab have increased examination fee for Matric and Intermediate registration fee processing and language fee.
The decision of Punjab Boards committee would be affective from year 2012 supplementary examination.
Under this decision, class 9th and 10th examination fee for science group has been increase to Rs 700 from Rs 600, for arts group the new fee is Rs 650 raised from Rs 550. In the same way fee for private Matric and combined science group fee has also been increased.
All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association of Divisional President Ibrar Ahmed Khan has said Punjab boards have exponentially increased examination fee to cover for the board losses. The inspection fee for associated educational institutions has been raised to Rs 10000 from Rs 5000 and the first time visit fee for association with the boards has been increased from Rs 8000 to Rs 20000 where no fee was charged in this regard previously, he added.
He rejected this increase in boards’ fee and called it anti- education policy of the boards besides extra burden on the ill-fated parents and students in this regard.
