LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) lawmaker Samina Khawar Hayat escaped gunshots fired by dacoits on MM Alam Road Thursday.

According to a police officer, the lawmaker was on his way in her car when she came under gunfire after runaway dacoits fired shots at a passer-by.

The officer added the outlaws opened firing at Samina’s car as her guard overpowered one of them. However, she remained unscathed while two passers-by suffered bullet wounds. The injured were shifted to hospital where their condition was stated to be stable. The detained robber was handed over to the Gulberg police. Investigation was underway.

Case against cops: Investigation DIG Chdaudhary Shafiq Ahmed Gujjar ordered registration of a case against two police inspectors and an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) for poor investigation.

Muhammad Abid, a citizen, alleged that Lower Mall Investigation In-charge Inspector Ahmed Ali Goraya and ASI Mehboob Ahmed arrested his relatives and maltreated them over a bogus case.

The DIG ordered an inquiry under the Investigation SSP. The probe found the cops guilty. Similarly, the DIG ascertained another police inspector Naseer Ahmed was blacksheep in police department. The cop has been found backing criminals.
