LAHORE - Security forces have arrested four suspects linked to India’s spy agency – Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) – from Lahore, a private TV channel claimed on Sunday.

Reports said the security forces conducted a raid and arrested four suspects from a village in the suburb of Lahore. The arrested men reportedly belong to Baseen village located near the Indo-Pak Wagah Border.

All the four suspects were captured on the information of a former police constable, who was arrested last week for being an “agent” of Indian agency RAW.

Some private TV channels had reported the arrest of Ilyas alias Pervaiz at Baseen village near Wagah Border on the charges of spying for RAW on Tuesday. But a Punjab police spokesperson denied the reports regarding arrest of the ex-constable.

According to media reports, Ilyas has been accused of providing information to the Indian spy agency about some senior army and police officials.

He had traveled to India from illegal ways more 20 times in the past years. The suspect Ilyas alias Pervaiz had been dismissed from service when he was posted in Model Town. Further investigations were underway.
