ISLAMABAD - The Fauji Fertilizer Open National Ranking Tennis Championship 2015 started here at Senator Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex on Sunday.

A total of 32 matches were decided in the qualifying of men's singles and boys U-18 singles. The ladies singles, boys U-18 and boys U-14 events are being played on the clay courts, while men's singles and doubles on the hard courts of PSB and PTF. Arham Atiq, Babar Ali, Asad Ullah, Saqib Umar, Hamza Bin Asif, Asjad Etizaz, Talha Bin Asif and Umair Qayyum qualified for the main draw of men's singles. The main draw of men's singles will start today at 9am. In the boys' U-18 qualifying event, Ahmed Ibrahim, Zoraiz, Ilham Khan, Ali Khalid, Abdullah Adnan, Ibrahim Ahmed, Umar Hasan and Zayn Ali booked place in the main draw as the boys U-18 and boys U-14 events will commence from today (Monday) at 9am. The championship carries total prize money of the event is Rs 300, 000 along with daily allowance for outstation players and travelling allowance for junior players only.

In the men's qualifying final round, Arham Atiq beat Mujahid Zaib 6-0,6-0, Babar Ali beat Gul Zaman 6-1, 6-0, Asad Ullah beat Shahryar Khan 6-4,6-3, Saqib Umar got w/o against Danish Ahmed, Hamza Bin Asif beat Ahmed Murad 6-0,6-0, Asjad Etizaz beat Musa Ch 6-1, 6-2, Talha bin Asif beat Bakhtiyar Afridi 6-2, 6-0 and Umair Qayyum beat Hasnain 6-0,6-1.

In the boys U-18 qualifying round, Ahmed Ibrahim Nazir beat Waleed 6-0, 6-1, Zoraiz beat Hadi Ali Shirazi 6-3, 6-4, Ilham Khan beat Saad Ahmed Jamal 6-1, 6-0, Ali Khalid beat M Ibrahim Khan 6-2, 6-2, Abdullah Adnan beat Mustafa Malik 6-1, 6-4, Ibrahim Ahmed beat Saad Kamal 7-6, 6-3, Umar Hasan beat Abdullah PSB 6-4, 6-0 and Zayn Ali beat Abdul Hanan Khan 6-1, 6-0.
