Islamabad - As many as 25 paintings on cultural and architectural heritage will be put on display here today (Monday) at Saidpur village for art lovers and general public.
The show entitled `A Heritage Preserved’ will be portrayal of a collection of exquisite architectural paintings by GN Kazi. The exhibition will be portrayal of imagery that is serene and aesthetically pleasing, harmonious and tranquil. It will serve as a treat for the eyes and soul at Nomad Art Gallery (NAG).
Having chosen architecture as his point of interest, the artist shows the complexities as well as its simplicity side by side to compliment and highlight the other. He chooses minimum colours and work in their tones, so that the attention of the viewer does not divert from the subject and tends to use earth tones and the various shades of the night sky as a reflection and depiction of his soil. There are no boundaries as his subjects move from forts to palaces and Havelis, the architecture is inspired by the traditional Mughal Period and shrines of saints and Sufis, said Nageen Hyat, Director Nomad. Having a 4 years diploma in fine arts from Karachi School of Arts, the artist served as instructor of fine arts at various educational institutions and centres. He has various solo and group shows at home and abroad to his credit.
