LAHORE - The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) is introducing a new campaign “quality helmets save lives” to educate motorcyclists about the use of quality helmets.

The campaign is being launched on the directives of Inspector General (NH&MP) Muhammad Saleem Bhatti, a police spokesperson said on Sunday.

Zonal Commander DIG Mirza Faran Baig reviewed the road safety campaign at Lahore Zonal Office and said the objective of this campaign is to tell the motorcyclists that only quality helmets provide head protection. Therefore consumers should be looking for quality helmets when purchasing a helmet. “Wearing a quality helmet, correctly fastened is one of the most effective road safety interventions known for motorcycle riders and passengers” said by Zonal Commander, DIG Mirza Faran Baig.” A thin piece of fragile plastic will never provide a motorcyclist with any form of head protection in the event of a crash. The quality of a motorcycle helmet is crucial to its ability to prevent head injuries if a crash occurs.” he added.
