Tennis coaching camp concludes

ISLAMABAD - The 14-day long Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) POF Wah tennis coaching camp concluded at POF Wah tennis courts on Sunday. The ATF sent a qualified tennis coach Axe Mansaman of Thailand to impart coaching and modern games techniques to 22 junior players of the country. Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) sponsored the event. Lt Gen Umer Hayat was the chief guest whereas PTF chief Salim Saifullah Khan was guest of honor. PTF secretary M Khalid Rehmani, POF sports control board president M Afzal and secretary Shaheryar Ahmed and PTF SVP Col and camp commandant Inamullah Khan were also present there. The Thai coach appreciated hospitality of Pakistani people and skills of juniors like Muzammil Murtaza, Aman Atiq, Ibrahim and Barkatullah Khan terming them future of Pakistan. “The physical fitness of players is vital, if it is addressed and improved, they can easily come at par with junior players of other nations of Asia,” he added. Chief guest Gen Umer Hayat promised to continue supporting tennis. Salim Saifullah said that this camp was part of their long-term goal of keeping juniors engaged in tennis activities and groom them for 2017 international assignments. He also said that in the year 2015, the PTF would hold at least 25 national tournaments and a good number of coaching camps. He also thanked the POF chairman for his kind support for the camp.
