LAHORE - The benefit cricket match for scorer late Abdul Hameed Popa will be organised later this year on December 25 by Amir Ilyas Butt. The match will be played between Salman Khan XI and Amir Ilyas Butt XI here at Shah Faisal cricket ground. "We will be giving Rs 2.5 million to the family of late Hameed for the education of his children and welfare of the family," said Amir Ilyas Butt. Hameed remained associated with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as a scorer for 27 years and he died last week due to heart attack. Ilyas recounted the services of Hameed and said the best way to acknowledge his valuable contribution towards the promotion of cricket was to arrange a benefit match for his family. He said the teams of benefit match and an organising committee would be announced soon.
