Islamabad-Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police has arrested a professional burglar and recovered valuables from him. These include a white gold necklace, foreign currency, 3 laptops, 2 digital cameras, 6 expensive mobiles, 1 tablet, 2 precious watches, computer and mobile accessories along with instruments of burglary.

The suspect has been identified as Ibraheem Muhammad son of Muhammad Qasim, resident of house number 1067, street 43, sector G-11/2, Islamabad. During preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to have struck at the house of one Nadeem Yousif Butt son of Muhammad Yousif Butt, resident of house number 189, street 78, sector G-11/2 on August 15, 2016

An FIR was registered at police station Ramna of the same case. He also confessed having looted the house of one Saeed Anwar in street 64, sector G-11/2 on August 13, 2016 upon which a case was registered at police station Ramana. Further detailed investigation is under way.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police performed mock exercise to tackle any kind of emergency situation around media houses and ensure elaborate security arrangements there, a police spokesman said.

Senior officials including bomb disposal squad, police commandos, Pakistan Rangers, Rescue 15, CID, CIA and Special Branch of Islamabad police, Traffic Division, CDA Fire Brigade and ambulances participated in the rehearsal at PTV, PTV Home and other media houses.

Following directions of SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani, this rehearsal was conducted. During this exercise police officials along with commandos rushed to a site, cordoned off the area and took their positions within approach time. The purpose of this rehearsal was to prepare cops for emergency situation and to ensure security in the federal capital.
