Planning, Development and Reforms Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar said on Friday that the government is determined to develop China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in order to eradicate poverty, provide education to the youth, create job opportunities and produce electricity by using local resources.
While talking to Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing in Islamabad, the minister said that Pakistan would ensure sustainable development by pursuing Chinese model of progress.
Makhdoom Khusro said, “Pakistan offers vast investment opportunities and Chinese investors should take benefit of them.” The minister also had a detailed discussion with the Chinese ambassador about the strategy to be implemented to move CPEC to the next phase and to promote cooperation in agriculture, tourism, and other sectors.
The meeting also reviewed possible public-private partnership in the wake of various models of investment and partnership.
The Chinese ambassador said that both the governments share unanimous views to further strengthen ties between Pakistan and China. He said that his government would take steps to persuade Chinese investors to invest in Pakistan.
