ISLAMABAD – About 57 posts are lying vacant in grades 20, 21 & 22 in Federal bureaucracy and several important Ministries are being run by acting Secretaries.
Establishment Division sources said that 13 posts in Grade-22, nine in Grade-21 and 35 posts in Grade-20 are still vacant in Federal Ministries, divisions and autonomous organisations though the Prime Minister on Monday last approved the promotion of a number of Grade-21 officers to Grade-22.
The vacant posts of Secretaries include Secretary Capital Administration & Development(CAD),Finance, Chief Executive FATA Development Authority , Peshawar, Secretary Federal Ombudsman, Chairman NEPRA, Secretaries Postal Services Division, National Heritage, IT, Parliamentary Affairs Division, Revenue Division and Water and Power.
These Ministries are being run either by giving additional charge or by Acting Secretaries.
Grade-21 posts of Additional Secretaries are vacant in Ministries of Information & Broadcasting, Commerce, Finance, CAD, and Inter-Provincial Coordination. Grade-20 Joint Secretaries posts are vacant in Finance, Defence, Law and Justice, Postal Services, Cabinet Division and other departments.
Large number of officers in Grades 19, 20 and 21 are waiting for the meeting of the high-level Promotion Committee to decide their cases.
