Cases registered against 19 drug stores

RAWALPINDI – The District Quality Control Board has registered cases against 19 drug stores and clinics for operating without licences or selling illegal drugs. Moreover, four other clinics were issued warning. In a meeting held the other day, presided by District Coordination Officer (DCO) Saqib Zafar, it was decided to send the cases to drug court.
About 33 cases against the medical stores, clinics and hospitals involved in different violations of drug rules were considered and heard the parties concerns as well. Some of them were involved in using expired syringes. Besides, the drug inspectors also sealed a chemist shop and Basharat Clinic in Chak Beli Khan; Nimra Pharma, Tariqabad; Ahmed Medical Store, Choa Khalsa; Gul Brothers, Iqbal Road; Al-Razzaq Medical Store, Iqbal Road and Kings Pharmacy, Chandni Chowk. The issue will be brought before the board in the meeting next month.
The board meeting issued warnings to four chemists and clinics and asked the drug inspector to check the record and drugs of these chemist shops during a surprise visit.
