PESHAWAR - Despite clear defeat in election for the slot of provincial president of Milli Yakjehti Council, members of JUI-F, including General Secretary Hafiz Hussain Ahmad, refused to accept the election results.Jamaat-e-Islami, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Prof Ibrahim has been elected president of the council. The JUI-F leaders warned to resign if JUI-F was not given the designation of president. The meeting of provincial council of Milli Yakjehti Council was held in Markaz-e-Islami Peshawar under the chair of Mohammad Saqib who was election in charge in the meeting. All 14 religious parties of the council participated in the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions. Addressing the inaugural session of the meeting, Hafiz Hussain Ahmad, general secretary of the council, highlighted the importance of Milli Yakjahti Council and stressed religious harmony among different sects while other leaders including Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pro Ibrahim and Ameer JUI-F KPK chapter Shiekh Amanullah also addressed on the occasion.Later on, election In-charge Muhammad Saqib directed each party to give two names for the provincial council representation. The provincial council was directed to choose their office-bearers for the slot of president. On this occasion, Jamaat-e-Islami and other parties suggested to give the slot of president to other parties in the council as JUI-F and JI have already top slots in the Central Council. However, JUI-F refused the suggestion and gave the name of Sheikh Amanullah for the council president while JI gave the name of Prof Ibrahim while other members suggested the name of Sajjada Nasheen Pir Syed Sajjad Badsha.When the voting process was completed, Prof Ibrahim of JI stood first with 15 votes; JUI-F Ameer for KPK Shiekh Amanulla secured nine votes while Sajjad Nasheen got four votes. After the entire process, when the General Secretary of the council Hafiz Hussain Ahmad was informed regarding the results, he refused to accept the election results and announced that he would resign as a General Secretary, if Shiekh Amanullah, was not given the designation of president.After long debate, Jamaat-e-Islami Provincial Ameer Prof Ibrahim gave his designation of President to Shiekh Amanullah and vowed to serve the council without any designation.
