MULTAN - Pakistan People’s Party Vice Chairman and former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Sunday that interim government would be established after two months.

Gilani termed that the long march call given by Maulana Tahirul Qadri as uncalled-for and suggested him to enter the politics according to the rules and principles.

Talking to the mediamen here at airport, the former premier claimed that the commission on new provinces was heading forward in right direction and expressed his hope that the deprivation of South Punjab will be eliminated in the near future.

Gilani stated that Senator Farhatullah Babar, who heads the commission, had briefed the PPP the CEC meeting on the progress made by the commission.

He said that the incumbent PPP govt took practical steps for the development in the country. To a question about Tahirul Qadri call for a long march, he said that Tahirul Qadri should register a political party and take mandate from the public. They will accept Tahirul Qadri’s mandate if he was voted by the public, he added. About FIA’s claim regarding fake degree of Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani, he maintained that it was up to the HEC to verify degree and not the FIA.

About Bilawal Bhutto Zardari speech, the former prime minister observed that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made visionary speech and also gave message particularly to the youth. He claimed that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would prove a good leader after Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

To a query about Taliban’s offer for dialogues, he recalled that the government had also held dialogues with Taliban in past but later they backed out from the dialogues process. He said that dialogues could be held with Taliban in the larger interest of the country, if they were sincere in dialogue process.

About rumours of his nomination as PPP Co-Chairman, he termed it disinformation.

The former premier said that the PPP would contest the upcoming general elections in a befitting manner, adding that the PPP would make a clean sweep in the elections on the basis of its performance.
