RIC may be functional soon

RAWALPINDI – Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology is expected to be functional for indoor patients in third week of January.
Medical Superintendent (MS) Doctor Shoaib Khan, talking to INP, said that the installation of equipment was underway, while first phase of appointment of doctors has been completed.
Giving details, the MS said that two angiography machines have been set up, while 12 X-ray machines would be installed tomorrow (Tuesday). He mentioned that the installation of CT scan machine was also under process which would be completed within one week. He further said that eco-machine and ETT machine had already been installed in the institute.
He informed that 500 posts were vacant from grade 1 to 20 in the institute, including 55 posts of specialist doctors, adding that 32 specialist doctors have been deployed purely on merit. Recruitments of paramedical staff were also under process, he added. He informed that they imported beds and mattresses from Italy and contracts for sanitation and security of the institute have also been awarded. Security staff would start their work from 1st of January.
