NEW YORK-Beyonce has revealed she recorded 80 tracks for her new surprise album.
The singer’s fifth album, Beyonce, includes 14 songs and 17 videos and debuted at number one in the Billboard charts after it was released without fanfare just before Christmas.
Beyonce has posted a series of videos on YouTube talking about the release, in which she revealed: “When I started picking the songs that I gravitated towards, because I recorded about 80 songs, it was the songs that were more effortless to me that stuck around.”
The songs were actually finished around 12 months ago, before the star began her The Mrs Carter Show World Tour. Among them is Drunk In Love, which features the star’s husband Jay-Z.
“I kind of free styled the verse, and Jay went in and he started flowing out his verse. We just kinda had a party,” she recalled. “It was so great, because it wasn’t about any ego, we weren’t trying to make a hit record, we were just having fun. And I think you can hear that in the record.”
Meanwhile, the couple were spotted dancing to the song together on a lavish night out in Atlanta at the weekend.
Beyonce and Jay-Z were snapped enjoying a night out without baby Blue Ivy at the Club Reign, where witnesses told TMZ.com they spent almost 100,000 dollars on bottles of D’usse cognac and Ace of Spades champagne for the entire VIP section.  Beyonce wore a printed t-shirt with long sparkly sleeves and thigh-high red leather boots over leather leggings.
Also spotted at the party were Jermaine Dupri and Bow Wow.
