SHEIKHUPURA/TT SINGH - Five persons were killed in different incidents of violence and mishaps.

According to details, in Sheikhupura a candidate for the slot of UC 77 Chairman shot a villager dead when he refused to cast his and other family members vote in his favour in the upcoming local bodies election here late the other night. The candidate namely Naveed Aslam after exchanging hot words with Maqbool and shot him dead. The Farooqabad Saddr Police have started investigation into the incident.

In another incident some unidentified robbers gunned down a donkey-cart owner on resistant near village Mirza Virkan the other night. As per information, Aziz Ahmad was on the way back to his village on his donkey cart when unidentified outlaws intercepted him. In the meanwhile he attempted to overpower them at which the outlaws fired gunshots, killing him on the spot. The Sheikhupura Saddr Police have registered a case.

In Toba Tek Singh, two friends died and as many injured critically in Sydney Australia in a car accident. Parents of deceased Malik Mohsin, a resident of Ksamalia told that he had gone to Austraila a year ago for post graduation study and was on the way on a road.

 along with three friends when the car overturned due to slippery during rain as a result he and his friend Azhar Iqbal of Karachi died instantly while Gulzar of Kamalia and Ajmal Kiani of Rawalpindi sustained seriously and admitted to hospital. Bodies of both deceased boys will reach Pakistan in a couple of days.

Meanwhile in Mandi Bahauddin, Ghulam Ali, 25, died of electric shocks. Reportedly Ghulam Ali, an electrician, a resident of Ranmul Sharif Adda, was working on rooftop of Rang Ali to rectify electric fault in Raika, a suburban village of Phalia. During working he received electric shocks and fell down from the rooftop. He was shifted to Phalia hospital where he succumbed to his wounds on the way.
