LAHORE - Excise and Taxation motor transport department has started delivery of computerised number plates at door steps of applicants on the direction of DG Excise and Taxation, an officer of E&T said on Monday.
He said that thousands of number plates were lying in the stores of Excise department and despite being informed owners did not arrive perhaps owing to delay in deliveries. “We contacted them on telephone they did not show up” said officer of Excise. He said now Excise and Taxation department on the direction of DG Excise was sending these number plates to the motorists on their residential addresses through courier service. E&T department will bear the expense of courier. Earlier these number plates were delivered to department through contractor.
