Fata clinch POF National Junior Basketball title

WAH CANTT - Fata won the POF National Junior Basketball Championship 2013 for the Chairman POF Trophy after remaining undefeated in all the six matches while KPK remained second and Punjab third.
In the second and third position match, KPK had to dig deep to beat Punjab in a close encounter played on Monday. In the first quarter, KPK scored 123 baskets, while Punjab could only managed six while in the second quarter, KPK scored 14 baskets and Punjab once again scored six. In the third quarter, KPK scored 13 baskets and Punjab managed eight baskets while in the fourth and last quarter, Punjab put KPK under enormous pressure and scored nine baskets while KPK could score five baskets. It was the first three quarters lead which helped KPK bag second position defeating Punjab 44-29.
POF Wah chairman Lt Gen M Ahsan Mehmood SI (M) was the chief guest on the occasion while POF Sports Cantonment Board president M Afzal, vice president Col Inam along with other dignitaries and basketball lovers were also present there.
Chief guest Gen Ahsan also announced to hold a cricket match between RISJA and POF Wah officers teams. He announced cash prize of Rs 30,000 for Fata, Rs 20,000 for KPK and Rs 10,000 for Punjab. Later, trophies and medals were presented to the winners and players. Kaleem Ullah of KPK was declared the best player of the event and was given away trophy.
